For the Space Research Institute, this is not the first project to launch space telescopes into orbit - the astrophysical observatory Gamma was launched in 1990, the international astrophysical observatory Granat conducted its first studies in December 1989.
In addition, the plans of the IKI RAS include the launch of a small spacecraft "Strannik", which will be engaged in research of various processes in the external magnetosphere and the solar wind. The launch of the “Wanderer” is scheduled for 2019. Next year, the Chibis-AI microsatellite will be launched to monitor the Earth’s ionosphere.
After 2020, the landing module will be launched on Venus (the Venus-D project). In 2024 - the project "Boomerang", which includes an automatic interplanetary station for the study of the Mars of Phobos satellite.
As for the long-term plans, the launch of the orbital astrophysical observatory "X-ray microphone", the station "Laplace P", which will spend most of the time on the satellite of Jupiter Ganymede, is expected after 2025.
