What will happen if you fight 42 nations at once in Civilization V? This question was asked by the participants of this thread in Reddit. The answer to the question was a real experiment, where 42 civilizations set to fight against each other in Civilization V, calling this battle "Battle Royale".

Generally speaking, fans of “Civilization” make quite interesting experiments. For example, the results of an 11-year battle , the longest in the world of this game, were published not so long ago (11 years being the real time of the Earth, and not a game). The results of the Battle Royale are no less interesting.

The battle began in 1880 BC, and its participants showed interesting results. So, Poland showed Nazi Germany, where the crayfish hibernate, destroying Berlin and Germany itself, along with Norway.

By the way, one of the conditions of the “battle” was the shutdown of all other possibilities of victory, except for “dominance” (Domination). Neither victories in time nor victories due to the launch of the spacecraft were not among civilizations - these conditions were simply turned off in the settings. It was possible to expect that the battle would be endless, but now, after 180 moves, it continues. According to the organizers, the battle will last until the participants reach a stable equilibrium and stalemate.

So far, AI has not invented atomic weapons, but one can expect that after the creation of appropriate technologies, the gameplay will become even more interesting.
