The institution is famous for robots dressed in samurai outfits, which were brought from Japan. They are separated from the visitors by a U-shaped glass wall. Guests can order two types of tables:
barbecue with equipped place for coal in the middle;
for cooking, in which there is a round electric stove.
Using the tablet, visitors send their order to the robot. Then there is a movement of the mechanical waiter to your table. At that moment, he is humming a melody and winking at him hospitably. For each of the two iron samurai there are 16 tables.
It employs five robots, two of which submit orders to customers, and three perform dances, enticing visitors at the entrance. Restaurant owner Lou Dyke believes that it helps to attract new customers. By the way, such robotic employees cost him a pretty penny - $ 9.5 thousand.
Haohai Robot Restaurant (Harbin, China)
This is one of the first restaurants in the world where robotized employees appeared (2012). About 20 robots are preparing noodles, dumplings, drinks, spreading them around the tables, as well as meeting guests at the entrance, who can perform a song. Each robot can express about 10 emotions, and one of them is an exact copy of the character of the cartoon " Wall-i ". Here, the person performs only one action: after completing the order, he manually drives it into the program, starting the process.
Aloft Hotel (Cupertino, California, USA)
You will recognize the most prominent hotel employee right away - this is a robot that resembles R2D2 from Star Wars . He will deliver snacks, drinks and various small things to the room. The robot employee is called Botlr , and his startup Savioke worked on it for a year.
The Botlr memory is equipped with a program in which there is a map of all corridors, elevators and hotel rooms. To build a route, the robot uses a laser sensor and cameras that allow people to travel around, luggage and other obstacles. Botlr can call the elevator himself, enter it and select the desired floor by connecting to the hotel’s Internet network.
Indianapolis International Airport (Indiana, USA)
In the autumn of last year, a small-sized Sigway came to work here in a branded T-shirt, with an iPad instead of a head. The robot is controlled by an employee, whose face is displayed on the screen, he observes what is happening with the help of a front-facing video camera. The importance of the robot is that it will provide assistance to tourists from 11 to 5 o'clock, when there are no employees near the registration desk.
Dalu Robot Restaurant (Jinan, China)
The restaurant opened in December 2010, and almost immediately the robots entered the position of waiters. Each of them is equipped with a sensor to determine the table where you want to deliver the order. The robots are similar to the droids from Star Wars, they are used to deliver trays of food, and also perform the duties of hostesses, waiters and artists, entertain guests with songs and dances.
Robot Kitchen (Hong Kong)
Here, three robots were used to serve the guests, who always have a great mood. Robots of different sizes work in the restaurant, one performs various tasks, another takes orders and delivers ready meals to customers, and the third indulges guests with a bright dance show.
