A suicide prevention system will appear in the Moscow Metro

In the Moscow metro will soon begin to test a new security system, preventing train hitting people who fell from the platform. This was told by the head of the security service of the Moscow Metro Vladimir Muratov. A trial version will be installed at the new metro station Novokosino. By 2020, it is planned to be installed at all stations of the Moscow metro.

Special digital cameras connected to the pattern recognition system will follow the paths. If a person gets in the way, the corresponding signal will be sent to the machinist of the nearest train, to the station attendant, to the transport security control center, control room and situational center. Tests of such cameras have already been carried out last year at the Novokosino and Sportivnaya stations.

Another common way to deal with accidents and suicide attempts in the subway is to install doors on the platform that open with the doors of the arriving train. This practice is widespread in European and Asian cities.
