Curiosity aerial view

If there were birds on Mars, then they could well consider in detail the Curiosity rover, which continues its journey on the surface of the Red Planet. And since there are no birds here, the “looking” at the rover is not the eye of a living creature, but the lens of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter camera. The other day, a Curiosity snapshot was taken on the Web, taken with the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) instrument from an orbiting satellite.

The light rocks in the photo are sedimentary formations, and the dark regions are sand. Frame highlighted rover. By the way, the photo was obtained on December 13, 2014, when the rover was on the hills of Parampa, near the base of Sharpe Mountain, next to an object called Whale Rock.

Now scientists are getting more and more images from Mars, thanks to the presence on the Red Planet of several vehicles equipped with cameras.

Now the device continues to work for the benefit of science. Hopefully, all systems will work normally for a long, long time. In the end, someone has to break the record of being on the Mars Opportunity, right?
