Roskomnadzor is preparing to block one of the pages of Reddit, which may lead to a complete inaccessibility of the resource

According to information from the official page of the RKN VKontakte community , the regulator is preparing to block access to one of the pages on the Reddit website.

The request for blocking came from the State Drug Control Service. An article on the cultivation of mushrooms containing narcotic substances has been posted on the page that attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies.

Roskomnadzor claims that the Reddit administration previously collaborated with the law enforcement agencies of the Russian Federation and removed the illegal information from its resource at their request. However, this time they ignored several letters from the regulator and the latter decided to enter a page with information on the cultivation of narcotic mushrooms in the register of prohibited sites.

This action may entail a complete blocking of the resource for a number of users from Russia, since different providers fulfill the requirements of the higher instance, represented by RKN, differently: some providers block specific resource pages, according to the registry, the rest - the entire resource.

On their Vkontakte page, Roskomnadzor representatives suggest that users who have contacts with the resource administration ask the latter to “check mail” for letters from them and fulfill the requirements of the regulator in order to avoid partial or complete blocking.
