Friday life hack with transport cards (legal)

How often did you happen to forget the travel card at the subway? I do this with enviable regularity. I would even agree to put the RFID tag in my hand, but it will be difficult to replenish it at the box office. But as it turned out, the problem has a simpler solution.

I proceeded from the fact that there is an object that I forget at home much less often. That's right, this is a smartphone. I’m not a young man, NFC doesn’t support ... Yes, even if I did, no one would allow me to rewrite encrypted transport cards. And I started experimenting.

First, the ticket was inserted under the back cover, to the battery. This has come to nothing, since the plastic of the lid (although not too thick) successfully screened the waves. But maybe it’s just the distance to the ticket ... One way or another, I rejected this idea as unworkable. The same thing happened when I tried to put a ticket in a silicone galosh cover. It was decided to go for broke.

Ticket pre-soaked in warm water, free from paper. The label is a square of thin transparent plastic, which contains all the simple electronics. We glue it on the back cover of the smartphone (in my case - on the cover). With transparent or colored tape. It turns out pretty elegant.

Now I go to the subway and the bus, easily touching the reader to the smartphone. Interestingly, readers in ground transportation are less sensitive: if the subway is triggered instantly, then the bus must sometimes be moved by a smartphone, looking for a focal point.

Metro employees do not react to the innovation. However, in case of unnecessary questions, I carry a cash voucher with me. A travel ticket for 60 trips is enough for a month or a little more, so the re-gluing operation has to be carried out not so often. A small fee for convenience, I think ...

Good luck to everyone and good weekend!
