Apple agreed to audit its products in China

Chinese media claim that Apple has agreed to the Chinese government’s requirements and will allow them to audit the security of their devices, including iPhones, iPads and Mac computers. The general director of the Chinese Internet Information Bureau (State Internet Information Office), Liu Wei, personally met Tim Cook at the end of December last year, where he agreed on a future inspection.

The reason for the verification is related to the suspicions that have been voiced many times that Apple products have the means of remotely spying on users and therefore it is at least unsafe to use them in government institutions. The head of Apple assured Liu Wei that Apple does not transfer data from his device to third parties.
We did not and will not do backdoors
added Tim Cook.
Liu Wei responded by saying that his government was still convinced of this, so that “buyers were confident of their safety.” And given that China is one of the largest markets for Apple, both parties are interested in the agreement.

A few days ago, Edward Snowden’s lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena, was interviewed by RIA Novosti, explaining why his client chooses not to use the iPhone. According to Snowden (he uses a simple phone himself), the Apple smartphone has built-in user tracking tools that can be turned on without any involvement from the owner.

According to Snowden's new disclosures published by Die Spiegel: “The world is entering the era of Di-weapons (from English digital - digital) ... unlike the atomic, chemical and biological, a new, elusive type of weapon is not regulated by international law, and the war is already underway - international scale. The same US exchanges their intelligence technologies in the framework of the Five Eyes Alliance with Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand. ”
