During the presentation, recently held by Acer, representatives of the Russian developer unit were quick to share with journalists about the imminent start of sales of the Aspire One laptop based on the Intel Atom. Thus, over the next two weeks, the much-awaited many alternative Eee RS will appear in many stores across Russia.
Aspire One is a laptop computer with an 8.9-inch LED backlit display and a resolution of 1024x600 pixels. The “heart” of the system is the Intel Atom N270 processor (1.60 GHz, 533 MHz bus, second-level cache 512 Kb). The model is equipped with 512 MB of RAM with the possibility of expansion up to 1.5 GB.

The developers offer two options for data storage: a 8 GB NAND flash memory module or an 80 GB internal hard disk. In addition, Aspire One can work with 5 different types of memory cards - Secure Digital, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, xD-Picture Card.

In the market, Aspire One is available in four colors: “blue sapphire”, “white seashell”, “golden brown” and “pink coral”. According to representatives of Acer, the new product is 150 g lighter than the same ASUS Eee PC 900. We can assume that this was achieved by moving from a passive cooling system to an active one.
According to available data, Aspire One based on Linux OS with 80-GB hard disk will be available for 11,990 rubles, while a similar model with Windows XP will cost 14,990 rubles to the consumer.
A sourceWell ... A very reasonable price for the Linux version. However, it does not say with which battery the subject will be supplied to the Russian market. There is a 3-cell battery, which according to acer holds 3 hours, and 6-cell, holding up to 7 hours. I'm afraid that the situation with MSI Wind will repeat, and we will only be supplied with a 3 cell battery: (
