There were a little more than a hundred keys and each of them could be pressed or released. And that's all. It's simple. Maximum was added the notion of holding - when the key is not released for a long time.

What to say? Just recently it was like this:

It was not easy, but we coped. A mouse was added to the keyboard and not only did it have two buttons and a wheel, so it could still be everywhere! No, really, count: 1024 * 768 - how many are the provisions? Lot? But still had to follow the windows of the application. As soon as the user didn’t pervert over them: Minimized, unwrapped, extended to full screen, stretched, moved ...

But actually it was all garbage:
