Pallette controller for working with graphics programs

The other day, developers from Canada presented their creation to the world - the Palette controller for working in programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, AfterEffects, and others. The project began in November 2013 with the launch of the kickstarter campaign, which managed to raise $ 158,470 ($ 100,000 was announced). The main idea of ​​the controller is a partial transfer of the main functions of graphics programs from the screen to the real world. According to the authors of the project, this will help facilitate the work of the designer when working with graphics.


So what is a device? This is a set of separate modules that can be connected to a single controller.

The main unit is the brain of the controller, all other blocks are connected to it, and it in turn connects to the computer via USB. You can hang different commands on the buttons. And with the help of knobs and sliders to change certain parameters (brightness, contrast, etc.).
The blocks are interconnected by magnets. The process is very simple:

Blocks can be connected in any combination, forming the structure of the controller to fit your needs.

The controller has its own software for configuration. For each program, you can create your own palette.




There are 4 sets to choose from - three of them have an anodized aluminum body, and the fourth is made of wood, “Wood Edition” (the picture at the beginning of the post).



Prices range from $ 199 (for a starter set) to $ 499 (for a professional). Moreover, individual modules can be purchased - $ 29 per button and $ 49 per slider or pen.
