Wikileaks will offer $ 100,000 for the text of the 26 chapters of the secret TPP

Who would have thought that information leaks through anonymous informants would acquire a crowdsourcing and crowdfunding basis. Now citizens all over the world are collecting money to pay an informant with access to secret intergovernmental agreements.

On June 2, the Wikileaks project began collecting funds for the “biggest American secret” - the text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (Trans-Pacific Partnership, Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP)).

The Trans-Pacific Partnership is an international trade and economic organization that is planned to be established, the purpose of which is to create a free trade zone in the Asia-Pacific region. In November 2013, a draft of the TPP secret agreement was published on Wikileaks.

Among other things, TPP provides for new minimum terms for copyright protection: no less than 70 years after the death of the author (Mexico proposes 100 years). The United States pushes countries to set a copyright term of 95 years for corporate work and 120 years for unpublished work. The document provides for the unification of legislation to combat violations in the field of intellectual property, as well as rules to regulate the Internet.

At the same time, the United States is preparing a similar Trans-Atlantic Free Trade Agreement with the European Union.

"Over the past two years, Wikileaks has published three chapters of this super-secret global agreement, despite the unprecedented efforts of the parties involved in the negotiations, to keep it secret," writes Wikileaks. - US Senator Elizabeth Warren (Elizabeth Warren) said: "They can not make a deal to the public, because if the American people learn about it, then oppose." The remaining 26 chapters are strictly guarded by negotiators and large corporations with privileged access. Today, Wikileaks is taking steps to give society legal access to the missing chapters of the monstrous trade agreement. ”

The Trans-Pacific Partnership is the largest agreement of its kind in history: a multi-million international treaty is secretly negotiated by 12 countries, including the United States, Japan, Mexico, Canada and Australia. The goal is to organize a new international legal regime that will allow large corporations to circumvent local laws, avoid compliance with environmental regulations, supervise the Internet for the content industry, limit the distribution of affordable generic drugs, and drastically reduce the legislative sovereignty of each country.

Fundraising has begun. At the moment, collected $ 44,346.71 from 646 people.
