A da Vinci robot surgeon sewed back the skin removed from the grape with a surgical needle and thread. The video was made to show the ability of the robot to perform complex operations with jewelry accuracy.
Da Vinci began to use robots for
remote operations in the late 1990s. The surgeon controls the robot, sitting at a special remote. This console includes “virtual reality glasses” - the surgeon sees the volume of the operation. Initially, I had to work with the usual flat image, but later the problem was solved using 3D shooting technology.
The accuracy of the system allows to reduce blood loss during surgery. The “hands” of the robot do not shake like the hands of a living doctor, which allows the surgeon to work more efficiently. But in the past few years, several lawsuits have been filed against the manufacturer of robots, Intuitive Surgical, regarding postoperative complications and one fatal case. In one of the lawsuits, the company was accused of using the system to operate less skilled surgeons.

At the moment, there are 3,000 Da Vinci systems operating around the world, of which about 20 are in Russia. Most installed in the USA.

This part of the system works with the patient.
