ATRIAS is a robot created by a group of experts from the University of Oregon (USA). The other day, its creators decided to walk around a local park. The robot does not look too friendly, but as far as can be seen, no one was scared. The purpose of the walk itself is to find out how well the robot can travel over rough terrain.
The park is, of course, not mountains, but even here not every robot will be able to walk normally. As far as one can understand, the tests were successful - the system did not have any problems.

By the way, the name of the robot is decoded as “Assume The Robot Is A Sphere”, an old joke from the world of physics, which demonstrates the possibility of significantly simplifying a complex physical problem for carrying out the necessary calculations.
According to the developers, their system is very energy efficient, the movement of the robot needs a minimum of energy. At the same time, the robot can move on two legs, unlike its predecessors (BigDog, WildCat and Spot).
