Each year, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and the American Motion Picture Association (MPAA) compile a list of the most “bad” sites, the brightest “pirate coves” that violate the rights of film and music creators.
The operator of one of these sites, Wawa-Mania, was sentenced in absentia to a year in prison. Now Dimitri Mader is in Asia, but after arriving in France, he is also awaited a $ 30 million civil suit from the world's largest film studios.
If Mader earned the same amount as the
administrator of the torrent tracker GKS.gs , the payment period of $ 30 million would be 11,350 years.

Dimitri Mader discovered Wawa-Mania in November 2006. The site has become one of the largest resources of this type with two million registered users. Because of this, he attracted the attention of copyright holders, and in 2009 Madera was detained by law enforcement agencies. This happened after the Association for the fight against audio-visual piracy revealed more than 3,600 films available on Wawa-Mania.
Five years later, this week, it became known that Mader was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 20,000 euros. Dimitri was sentenced in absentia because he recently fled to the Philippines. The court also ruled to close Wawa-Mania, but it remains available through the use of the Ecuadorian domain and the Moldovan hoster, who previously used The Pirate Bay.
The bad news for Madera doesn't end there. The largest film studios, including Columbia Pictures, Disney, Paramount, Tristar, Universal, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Bros. want to pay damages of $ 30 million dollars. Hearings are scheduled for May.
