The Google Art Project team has announced that more than 200 full-size 3D models of exhibits from 6 new museums have appeared in the virtual gallery. The following museums offered the opportunity to work with their exposition:
Google Art Project allows you to virtually visit the most famous museums in the world, moving along them in much the same way as a user moves to Street View. Some pictures of famous artists are represented by gigapixel photos taken specifically for the service with a special camera. Other museum exhibits are scanned by a 3D scanner, the resulting models can be rotated, scaled and viewed from all sides, which is not available under the conditions of a regular museum.
Google Culture Academy supports three major projects:
Google Art Project ,
Google Historic Moments and
Google World Wonders . It is estimated that users on average view each work for more than one minute, while in a regular museum they spend less than 20 seconds on it. The most popular painting of Art Project is Van Gogh's "
