"Mimic" outlet: a short comparison of the outlet Xiaomi and Orvibo

I decided to be consistent, and once I started to resent about smart sockets, then resent each of them.

Below are a few words about Xiaomi

')

One day, I quickly walked through the unpacking on a smart Orvibo outlet, and now for my friends I’m kind of an expert on Wi-fi sockets, so I got Xiaomi out of court.

The gadget is delivered in a small white box, barely accommodating the gadget. In addition to the logo and the hieroglyphs on the back, the packaging is almost burdened.

In this sense, Orvibo is packed more luxurious, albeit “meaningless” in terms of spending space. If I do not intend to use the box in everyday life and make a vault of trifles out of it, then this wastefulness is incomprehensible to me.

Another plus in Xiaomi is the presence of USB, just what I lacked in Orvibo. Now it’s strange to make a power outlet without USB. If we talk about "spaciousness", then formally Xiaomi wins 3: 1.

Orvibo:

At the same time, two devices can be connected to the Xiaomi device. Formally speaking, given the slight spread of Chinese forks, we get a third nest and will not have much demand at all. In pure form, it turns out a victory of 2: 1.

Both devices are equipped with an on / off button.

Speaking of Chinese forks! The main problem for me was the search for an adapter for the "mi" socket, and in the end I did not get the "native" one.

The socket works with Android devices using the Smart home application. You can understand what stage of synchronization you are in thanks to a single indicator. If the socket is “clean”, then when turned on, it should blink orange:

In this mode, it "identifies" the application and offers to synchronize. Only with this blink I managed to connect it. There are two or three times more options with a longer period of time.

As soon as the application sees the outlet, the outlet will see wi-fi, and you can enter a password to synchronize your devices.

When a Wi-fi outlet is detected, the socket will begin to flicker in blue, and when connected, the blue color will glow continuously:

The application itself is simple, by analogy with Orvibo, with the only difference being that you can control the USB power supply and the socket separately.

Log in to the application, you can under your account Xiaomi.

You can also set the timer on and off the outlet.
