Google, along with Johnson & Johnson, will develop robotic surgeons

Google Corporation is quite actively working on the creation of various kinds of robotic systems. The assets of the "Corporation of Good" already have robots cars. Now, Google, together with Johnson & Johnson, will develop robots capable of performing surgical operations.

The company says that the project team is developing a “platform” for creating robotic assistants who can help doctors during surgical operations. Financial details are not disclosed yet.

Johnson & Johnson manufactures a large amount of medical equipment. The role of Google is to create new software and hardware to increase functionality, expand the range of capabilities of this medical equipment. For example, a corporation may develop video sensors for robotic surgeons, as well as create control software. For example, Google’s software will display all important information about the course of the operation and the patient’s condition in one place, making it easier for human doctors to perform a surgical procedure.

The project itself was called Life Sciences. The goal of the project is to increase the accuracy of surgical operations, reduce the traumatic effects, and reduce the patient’s recovery time after surgery. The project will also involve the Johnson & Johnson, Ethicon division, whose specialists have been working in the field of creating medical devices, in particular, automated devices for surgeons, for about 60 years.

Project participants believe that the duration of such work is more than one year, the project is long-term.
