Sunset on Mars - how does it look?

NASA recently posted a video in Vine with the sunset on Mars, which does not look like the sunset on Earth. And the sun is smaller, and the color of the sky is different - everything is alien. There are two versions of this video - in Vine (unfortunately, it will not work in the video here, the parser will not give), and on YouTube - this video can be viewed in the sequel.

On Earth, the sky is blue due to the fact that the shortwave part of the visible spectrum (purple-blue) is dispersed in the atmosphere. At sunset, sunlight passes through a layer of air that is thicker than during the daytime, and longer waves, including red light, begin to scatter.

On Mars, something similar happens, but during the day the sky at Mars is reddish when viewed from the surface of the planet. At the same time, at sunset a ray of light has to pass through a thicker layer of the atmosphere than when the sun is at its zenith. Therefore, the red color is filtered almost completely, but the light of a different spectrum (blue-blue) is scattered and we see a blue halo around the setting sun on Mars.

Dust on Mars is common, and since Mars’s gravity is lower than that of Earth, dust rises higher and lasts longer than on our planet.

Note that photos of the sunset, from which NASA made a video, were obtained by the Opportunity rover.
