From February 22 to March 1, the next localization competition will be held again within
LocJAM !
The
LocJAM competition
is held for the second time, is non-commercial in nature and is aimed at raising awareness of the device for the process of localizing video games. Its structure is quite simple, because this is the only way to achieve maximum effect, despite limited resources. The competition will be held in two stages: from February 22 to March 1, everyone will be able to translate the game, then the jury members will check the translations of the participants and select the winner. In May, the winners will be awarded and awarded prizes.

Compared to the first competition, its scope will expand: now the 20 jury members (against 16, who took part in the first competition) will evaluate, in addition to translations into French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish (European and South American versions), translations into Brazilian Portuguese and Russian.
We want to emphasize that the competition is completely non-commercial and its goal is to support the movement for open source software. As a result, all tasks (both performers and judges) are performed free of charge. This year, the organizers chose one of the publicly available games, Twine, as a game for translation. To work on its localization, a special platform was prepared, thanks to which it will be possible to translate other Twine games.
All Correct Localization will act as a jury member in evaluating the Russian translation. After the contestants send their translation options, our company will connect to the work and begin to evaluate the quality of the participants' localization. As a result, everyone will be able to get feedback from one of the leading localization companies and get an idea of the video game localization process.
To enter the contest you will need:
- Register on the site .
- On February 22, start translating the game and hand it over by March 1.
- Wait for the results of the competition and, if successful, get a well-deserved prize.
Successful localization!
