British cinema announced to police on 12-year-old girls because of smartphones

When a flock of 12-year-old British girls came to the cinema to look at the "Hunger Games", they did not expect at all that they would be expelled from there, and they would even report them to the police. Running out of the cinema, frightened girls collided at the exit with a pair of police cars with flashing lights and sirens. This happened only because the cinema administration was frightened by their smartphones. The police did not find any "illegal recordings" in girls, who, naturally, were too alarmed to watch a movie.

The incident, reported by TorrentFreak , occurred at the Cineworld network cinema in Brighton Marina, United Kingdom. The cinema administration spotted iPhones and iPads among girls, which was the motive for calling the police. Why did it take such tough measures, why the administrator simply didn’t ask to turn off the devices, and why the police had to search the girls, who then (in tears, as eyewitnesses say) waited on the street until their parents took them - completely unclear.

As a Cineworld spokesperson said, “Although we regret that customers were upset, we are confident that [the administration] followed the correct procedures. If our employees meet with such behavior, they are obliged to immediately notify the cinema administration, and call the police. But we bring to the board of directors the questions raised by the parents [of the girls], and we will review our policy regarding young clients. ”

The film industry for more than 10 years is increasingly struggling with illegal recordings in cinemas. The well-known “screens” were first recorded on small hand-held video cameras, and with the advent of modern gadgets, on smaller devices. Interestingly, while recording a movie for personal use in Britain is not against the law. But despite this, cinemas prohibit carrying recording devices with them, in particular Google Glass , and require that smartphones and tablets be turned off at the entrance.
