A startup on a remote, is it real?

There is an idea, in my opinion, very promising (I will not put the essence of it on public display). Personal opinion was confirmed during the demonstrations of this idea to various people. For its implementation requires a solid team of specialists of various kinds: sis. admin, one or two programmers, illustrator, flasher.

It is hardly possible to gather all these people in Yekaterinburg, especially since almost all of them already work in various companies. It is wrong to distract specialists of your company for your personal or joint project.

The goal is to assemble a team unrelated geographically, but is it real? Immediately there are many questions. How to organize a proper communication between the participants? How to arrange everything legally, since I want to collect not hired workers (there are not enough funds), but specialists / partners?

It would be interesting to hear the experience of people facing this problem and successfully solving it, as well as answers to the above questions.
