Various ideas were offered, ranging from donations to charity to financing of crowdfunding projects on the site.
As a result, it was decided to organize the possibility of monetization for users of the aggregator by entering reddit notes for them. Based on the post itself, it is quite difficult to understand what they are, but judging by the infographics, reddit notes can be stored in a wallet and used for commercial purposes - in other words, buy and sell.
The first reddit notes will be issued using a random lottery - in the amount of 950,000 pieces, users of the site who have been active since September 30 of this year will receive them. Reportedly, this “issue” will last until the end of 2015.
