10 new languages added to Google Translate translation service
Yesterday there was one of the most significant events for the inhabitants of Central Asia and Africa. 10 new languages have been added to the Google Translate translation service, including Kazakh, Uzbek and Tajik. After adding these new languages in the Asian and African regions, Google Translate allows you to make translations now into 90 languages of the world. As noted in the official press release, all this was made possible thanks to the active work of volunteers in the Google Translate Community project. I wrote about the work in this project in my previous article on GeekTimes .
Full list of added languages:
Kazakh (Kazakhstan)
Tajik (Tajikistan)
Uzbek (Uzbekistan)
Chichewa (Malawi)
Malagasy (Madagascar)
Sesotho (Lesotho)
Malayalam (India)
Myanmar (Myanmar)
Sinhala (Sri Lanka)
Sundanese (Java in Indonesia)
According to the company, the addition of these languages will increase the number of Google Translate users by 200 million people. All these languages are already openly available from December 12 on the Google Translate service.
