Wikipedia censored by officials because of the CIA torture report
An anonymous user with an IP address of 156.33.241.11 ( registered with the US Senate network) tried several times to erase the word “torture” from a Wikipedia article devoted to a recent CIA report compiled by the Senate Intelligence Committee. The edits were noticed on December 9 and 10 , in each case Wikipedia activists restored the original text.
To track the further actions of officials launched twitter bot @congressedits . It contains the latest edits made from the IP addresses of the US Congress.
The report brought a lot of rustling in the ranks of the political elite. The 6000-page document was compiled from an analysis of 6 million internal documents of the CIA, which took five years to prepare. The report details the methods that CIA agents use to interrogate suspects in terrorist activities in different countries of the world from 2011 to 2006.
