X5Max has a thickness of 4.75 mm and a 2 Ah battery

The Chinese company Vivo showed X5Max smartphone. It is claimed that with a thickness of 4.75 mm, the smartphone is the thinnest in the world. For comparison: today the thinnest Elife S5.1 from GioNee (5.1 mm) and R5 K5 from Oppo (4.85 mm).

Of course, the most important issue for Android phones is the battery. Declared capacity of 2000 mAh, buy the second and change it as needed will not work - it can not be removed. As you can see, the thickness has come at an expensive price, and the phone’s working time will be greatly missed. For comparison: in Elife S5.1 there is a non-removable battery at 2050 mAh, for R5 - 2000 mAh.

The battery is too small for a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080 × 1920 pixels and a 64-bit eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor . The ability to use 64 bits in Android will only appear in the Lollipop version (the phone comes with 4.4.4). The chip contains the Adreno 405 video accelerator, four Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of 1.7 GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of 1 GHz.

The phone has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. The motherboard has a thickness of 1.7 mm. There is a front camera of 5 megapixels. From behind, the bump of a 13-megapixel main camera protrudes almost 2 mm from the phone, which somewhat contradicts the stated thickness.

In general, the phone is firmly assembled, but at the same time it is light. In Oppo R5, you have to use a microUSB port adapter to connect headphones. The X5Max engineers managed to fit a 3.5 mm jack.

Like its counterparts, the X5Max focuses on sound using a Yamaha YSS-205X signal processor and Saber ES9018K2M DAC chips, a Saber ES9601 headphone amplifier, and an OPA1612 amplifier. This chipset comes as part of the Hi-Fi 2.0 architecture. X5Max exceeds Xplay 3S in terms of dynamic range and signal-to-noise ratio. Thanks to the Yamaha chip, the phone has karaoke support. Probably, someone will really sing in the headset headphones.

The phone will start selling in China from December 12 at a price of 2998 yuan (≈27,000 ₽ or ≈485 $). Later, the FDD-LTE version of the smartphone will appear.
