The court of Syktyvkar canceled a fine of 50 thousand rubles for the delivery of pizza by drones

First, on Habré, and then on Geektimes some news was published about the fate of the pizza delivery service drones and its founder. “The plot” is worth a little refreshment: on June 21, the Dodo Pizza company started delivering pizza by drones for promotional purposes, and only 6 boxes were delivered. After that, it was decided to create a pizza delivery service, where drones would deliver the product - the customers liked this way of receiving the order.

However, the authorities soon intervened, in particular, Gosavianadzor. Officials claimed the company is violating airspace use rules. The case began to deal with the court, and in October, the founder of the company Copter Express decided to fine 50 thousand rubles.

The defendant was accused of several violations at once, including the use of airspace, a flight plan and a license to transport goods on an aircraft. According to officials, all this had to issue permits. Of course, the respondent contested this point of view, arguing that the rules for flying drones are nowhere and regulated by anyone, and the quadcopter cannot be considered an “aircraft”.

The other day there was news that the court of Syktyvkar canceled the fine. The director of Copter-Express managed to prove that the law does not provide for the need to file an application for a quadcopter flight.

“Great news, I won the court in Syktyvkar! Having heard all the arguments, the city judge Batova L.A. decided to cancel the decision on the fine of 50 thousand rubles for the pizza transportation by air with the help of a drone ”, - Oleg Ponfilenok on his page“ VKontakte ”.

It is difficult to judge, of course, whether it is now possible to deliver anything by quadrocopters throughout Russia without any problems. Perhaps, the officials will soon clarify this point by issuing some new law or updating the old one.

In any case, both the pizzeria and the delivery service from Syktyvkar received excellent advertising. If it were not for the court, they would all have long been forgotten.
