According to the
report of the British government, in Scotland the share of electricity generated from renewable sources significantly exceeded the share generated by nuclear and thermal power plants of the country separately.
Over the past six months, hydro and wind power plants produced 10.3 TWh of electricity, while the figure for nuclear power stations for the same period was 7.3 TWh. The total value of thermal power plants on solid and liquid fuels was the lowest: coal generated 5.6 TWh, gas - 1.4 TWh.
Thus, it can be concluded that in a large proportion of Scotland's electricity is not only renewable, which gives obvious benefits in an economic sense, but also environmentally friendly.

It should be noted that due to the successful position of Scotland, in the future, it is the wind power industry that plans to remove the most attention - there are both land and sea stations in the arsenal of the country. Smaller, but still significant wave and tidal electric stations also contribute to this. At the same time, if in 2011 the authorities of the country possessed only 7 GW of complex on “green” energy, then an increase to 10.3 TWh over 3 years can be considered very significant.

In this area, there will be 11,000 new jobs, and the amount of investment will reach 2.3 billion next year.
