Audience (Moscow), thousand peopleThe Moscow audience follows a global global trend and is switching to the consumption of news from the Internet, and not from the “zomboyaschik”. In addition to news, citizens receive other information from the Network.
Sociological company "TNS Russia" published the
results of the latest study among Moscow residents. As it turned out, the audience of the largest sites now exceeds the audience of the TV channels. The greatest difference is in the segment from 12 to 34 years. Here, the audience of Vkontakte, Yandex, Mail.ru and Google is one and a half to two times the number of viewers of each of the most popular TV channels (see table).
True, if you take an audience of all ages, then only Yandex can compete with TV channels, the rest are a little off. Yandex overtook the most popular TV channel in general audience in 2012, and in 2013 it walked around TV channels in terms of cash proceeds (RUB 35.7 billion, Channel One - RUB 29.6 billion).

According to the statistics of TNS Russia, in September 2014, 2.18 million Muscovites aged 12-34 visited every day on Vkontakte, Yandex reached 2.108 million, Google 1.73 million, Mail.ru - 1.38 million. The daily audience of the five federal TV channels was distributed as follows: 1.06 million people watched Channel One daily, 1.06 million CTC, 1.25 million TNT, 0.82 million Russia Russia, 0.74 million - NTV.
The first deputy general director of Mail.ru Group, Dmitry Sergeyev, commented on the results of the research in an interview with Vedomosti. He said that, thanks to mobile device users, there is a "fantastic growth in both the audience and the time it spends online." Social networks mobilize especially well - people spend time in Vkontakte, even when they watch TV.
So far, this trend is well marked in Moscow and St. Petersburg, but the expert believes that the situation is gradually spreading covering the whole country. According to the daily Russian audience of 12-64 years old (excluding those entering the network from mobile devices), Yandex ranked 1st among all media (28.6 million), Vkontakte ranked 2nd (24 , 22 million), on the 3rd - Mail.ru (24.21 million), on the 4th - “First Channel” (20.3 million), on the 5th - “Russia 1” (18.5 million ).
