Budget Parrot Bebop quadrocopter with FullHD-camera will be released in December
Parrot is preparing to release the long-awaited quadrocopter Parrot Bebop - an inexpensive alternative to professional flying drones with aerial photography function as 1080p. In the windows of American, Australian and English stores the gadget will appear as early as next month at a price of $ 499.
Unlike the two previous quadcopters of this brand - AR.Drone and AR.Drone 2.0, for which aerial photography was rather a pleasant bonus than the main specialization - Bebop is equipped to the highest standard: the device body is equipped with a built-in video FishEye-camera with a viewing angle of 180 degrees, aperture f / 2.2 and 14 megapixel matrix. Thanks to the high resolution of the camera, the Parrot Bebop supports digital image scaling, rotation and a three-axis stabilization system. And although, according to some experts, the camera is not very well located, the low weight (only 400 grams) and compact dimensions (side of the square - 28 centimeters, height - 3.6 centimeters) make the Parrot Bebop a very attractive solution for fans of air piloting. ')
In addition to video, Parrot Bebop take pictures in JPEG and DNG formats. The latter is the most popular extension of the RAW format, saving the “raw” data directly from the camera matrix and allowing you to bring pictures to mind in a graphic editor. Of course, support for the RAW format, along with the video in MP4, places high demands on the capacity of the internal storage. The manufacturer did not provide the device with a traditional slot for SD or microSD cards, but it expanded the internal memory to 8 gigabytes. Given that the estimated duration of the flight Parrot Bebop is only 11 minutes, the capacity of the built-in storage is enough for several sorties.
As for controls, here Parrot offers a pleasant variety in the form of touch control via a smartphone or tablet and a convenient alternative in the form of a professional Skycontroller transmitter compatible with Android and iOS tablets. The controller is equipped with a neck strap, two comfortable joysticks for both hands, as well as an enhanced Wi-Fi module with four antennas, significantly increasing the range and altitude of the drone. Skycontroller will appear in stores along with the quadcopter itself. It is expected that the full package will cost about $ 889.
