Amatorsk Pollution Monitoring Network

Relatively recently, we managed to get data from the monitoring of environmental pollution (Ukraine). How they were mined is a separate story, but the problem is different.

Despite the rather extensive system of monitoring stations, in my opinion, it has insufficient coverage. Somewhere better, for example, large cities or industrial centers, and somewhere - not at all. But in any case, the existing system is only enough for an overall assessment of pollution, and an assessment of pollution at or near the observation points.

Therefore, there is a proposal to fill in the white spots with an open network of amateur stations for observing the environment.

PLAN

First, we need the observation stations themselves. It can be both ready-made and self-assembled solutions. And here it would be nice to have a list of standard (proven) solutions and methods of their deployment, so that you can talk about the quality and comparability of the data. Therefore, everyone who is willing to help with this question of mercy, forgive us for our hut.

Another important requirement is the ability to transfer data online.

It is clear that any kind of chromatographs, etc. colliders with accuracy up to n-th nine decimal points cannot be built, but I would like to receive a minimum set of data on dust (soot) in the atmosphere, CO2, radiation, and maybe weather data. Moreover, this topic is not deprived of attention on Habré / Hiktaims.


Secondly, of course, one cannot do without those who will buy-produce and install these stations, i.e. without amateurs / lovers themselves.

Well, the final element that we plan to take on. It provides a platform for collecting, visualizing and distributing the data received. This includes developing the appropriate API.
