Samsung simultaneously competes in several price segments. Apple remains in the senior major competitor, having released as many as two phone models this year - the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6+, increasing their screen relative to previous models to 4.7 and 5.5 inches, respectively. And in the younger segment, cheap Chinese models are pushing, including from Xiaomi and Huawei.

According to data for the third quarter of 2014, Samsung remains the top manufacturer, although it lost ground: compared to the same period last year, the share decreased by 8.2%. Huawei excelled with an increase of 211.3%. The growth of Lenovo and LG amounted to almost 40%. It will be interesting to look at the IDC report for the 4th quarter - will Lenovo's share grow thanks to new Vibe Z2 Pro and X2 models?

The Korean colleague LG with 41 phones in the line became the closest in fertility, HTC lags behind with 27 models and Motorola with 11. It is only about new models that are not considered last year: 171 models now sell Samsung in total. Over the past few years, on average, the company produces 63 phones a year, and in 2015 it plans to release only 39 models.

Statistics, the number is specified in millions of pieces.
