Service US federal marshals will sell another 50,000 bitcoins seized from Silk Road

Two days ago, the Federal Marshall Service (United States Marshals Service, USMS) launched an auction for the sale of 50,000 bitcoins previously withdrawn from Silk Road wallets. This is the second massive sale of seized cryptocurrencies, the first was carried out by the same service in July of this year. Then it was sold 30 thousand bitcoins Silk Road.

The new auction opened on November 15, its duration, according to the plan of service of the marshals, two weeks. The end is December 5th of this year. The auction is divided into two sections. The first will sell 10 blocks of 2,000 bitcoins, and the second - 3,000 units of cryptocurrency. To become an auction participant, you need to register on the USMS website and deposit $ 100,000 or $ 150,000 for each of the rounds, respectively.

By the way, thanks to the error e-mail BCC media found out who participated in the July auction. Participants include SecondMarket, Coinbase Yelp, BNP Paribas, Bitcoin Shop, Matrix Capital, Wrangley Capital, DRW Trading Group, DigitalBTC, BitcoinS Reserve. Most likely, many participants of the first auction will bid again this time.

It is worth noting that in July the Bitcoin rate was better than now (about $ 390). Taking into account this course, it is possible to calculate that the entire lot is estimated at 19.5 million US dollars. Currently, the rate of cryptocurrency against the dollar is trying to find an equilibrium position . It may well be that such a large number of units sold cryptocurrency will affect the course in one way or another.

If someone needs a lot of bitcoins, then you can find out detailed conditions for participation in the auction here .
