Time to boycott Ubisoft games?

One of the smallest bugs of Assassin's Creed Unity (PC version): the main character has lost his face somewhere

In the ranks of gamers brewing discontent with Ubisoft. It is said that the level of discontent rolls over to such an extent that soon Ubisoft will be hated almost as much as EA, which twice won the competition for the title of America's worst company.

Last year was extremely unfortunate for Ubisoft. The company entered the shit at every opportunity : these are the "embellished" Watch Dogs demos , the rejection of female characters in Assassin's Creed Unity , the locking of Assassin's Creed Unity on frame 30 FPS allegedly for "cinematic effect" (!), The ban on publishing (negative) game reviews on the first day of sales, demonstrations of greed: selling in-game objects in Assassin's Creed Unity for up to $ 99 , etc. This is even if you do not remember the scandals of previous years .

Degree of criticism reached the boiling point with the release of Assassin's Creed Unity. A lot of technical problems, glitches and poor performance have outraged millions of players. The PC version is almost impossible to play .

According to the PC Gamer test results , even on advanced video cards like the Nvidia 670, the game does not always reach 30 fps (with the High graphics settings), and in some places it drops to 10 fps. They say that even the double Nvidia GTX 980 SLI game slows down and constantly bugs .

Assassin's Creed Unity Glitches

Continuing to slide into the swamp of idiotic deeds, the company Ubisoft advised to disconnect the Internet connection to increase the frame rate during single-player game. Naturally, this does not help .

It seems quite reliable version of an anonymous technician (possibly an employee of Ubisoft) that the game exceeds the permissible limits for the maximum number of draw calls. While DirectX 11 is capable of processing no more than 7000-10000 at the peak, Unity transmits more than 50,000, so even on the most powerful CPU and GPU it is impossible to cope with that amount.

On the Reddit forums, someone also spoke, who identified himself as an employee of Ubisoft ( screenshot , Google cache ). He explained that there are no bugs in the development of such a game. Instead of the normal four-year game development cycle, as in the good old days, they had to work 50-70 hours a week (of which only 37 were paid). Sales were required to start before the end of the fiscal year, so it is not possible to postpone the deadline even for a month.

Ubisoft Director Yves Guillemot (Yves Guillemot), according to the game developer, openly stated a few years ago that the company no longer cares about porting games for the PC platform, because there are “90% pirated versions”, so the development was fused to Eastern Europe, where never seen game consoles.

A former employee of Ubisoft at the end of his message on Reddit admitted that he was drunk, and added: “Yves Gillemo, you can sue me, if you want, I don't give a damn. You are a manda! ”
