At Geektimes, the
news was already
published that Ilon Mask and his partners are working on their own project of providing access to the Network to the most remote corners of our planet. It is planned to do this by launching into the orbit a group of 700 miniature communication satellites.
In parallel, Facebook and Google are working on similar projects. These companies plan to launch several types of devices at once: balloons, communication satellites, and drones. This is all done with the same goal - to give the opportunity to connect to the Network for residents of regions where it is impossible to deploy a regular network infrastructure.

The other day, Ilon Musk
confirmed the intention of his company, SpaceX, to develop functional mini-communications satellites (weighing about 100 kilograms and costing about a million US dollars) for group work. The official announcement of the results of the project will take place in 2-3 months.
At the same time, Musk said that the price of access to the Network, using the new infrastructure, will be very low. Mask’s partner in the project is WorldVu Satellites Ltd’s project manager, but so far there is no official cooperation agreement with the company itself.
