TheWrap website
reports that HBO and Warner Brothers TB have teamed up for the filming of the series, based on Isaac Asimov’s
Foundation, trilogy.
Jonathan Nolan will be producing and writing the show.

Nolan is known as the creator of the popular NF-series about artificial intelligence "
In Field of View ", the scriptwriter of the acclaimed film "
Interstellar " and co-author of the modern restart of the Batman movie franchise "The Dark Knight". Nolan is also working with his wife on the future HBO series “Westworld”, dedicated to artificial intelligence and human weaknesses.
When Nolan was asked: "What kind of NF-work you think is undeservedly unknown to readers?", He replied:
')
“I, his mother, adore Azimov's“ Foundation ”. They are not so unknown, but it will not hurt anyone to read these books. They had a fucking influence [on fiction]. Many of them tried to imitate, many were inspired by them, you just read and your hair, damn it, will catch fire. ”
The “Foundation” tells the story of the brilliant mathematician Seldon, who devoted his life to creating psycho-history - the science of predicting the future based on predicting the behavior of large groups of people. With the help of his science, he sees the inevitability of the fall of the Galactic Empire and the onset of dark times by 30,000 years. However, there is an alternative in which dark times will last only a thousand years. In order to influence the development of events for the better, he gathers a group of talented people who must preserve and expand the base of human knowledge, thus becoming the basis for a new future empire.
Sony Pictures has already tried to implement the project, buying it in 2009 and appointing Roland Emmerich as a director and producer. When they failed, the project outbid HBO.
