Lechal insoles smart insoles overview

Lechal insoles smart insoles are an interesting system that can indicate to its owner the right direction of movement. A small device is built into the insoles that can not only indicate the direction, but also work as a fitness tracker, counting calories and distance traveled.

Of course, all data is transmitted wirelessly to an application for a mobile device, where all this can be viewed. Now we publish a review of the details of the work of this unusual gadget.

How to charge

Compact unit with a bottom plug for charging from 220 V, which is rolled in (to save space). On each side there are 2 indentations where one small removable lithium-polymer battery is inserted. Front is a USB-connector. Above the red indicator in the form of the manufacturer's logo.

Among the shortcomings of this design, it can be noted that when plugging into a power outlet, small problems may arise, since the plug is not “dead” and can be rolled up, and when connected to a standard extension cord, for example, with three sockets, the charger blocks its size outlet, that is, to such an extension cord, the maximum can be connected to only 2 devices simultaneously. True, the presence of USB-connector allows you to charge any other device via USB-cable.

During charging, the red indicator flashes, which will be lit continuously when charging is complete. The batteries allow the device to work 3 days in active use mode (3 hours of navigation + 12 hours of fitness mode) and up to 10 days in standby mode (fitness mode). It seems illogical that if you sharply pull out the charger itself, there is a chance to stay in hands only with the top of the charge: the plug will remain in the outlet. When trying to “assemble a puzzle”, parts of the body will not close, as the internal wires will interfere: they will constantly get stuck between openings, you will have to push the wires apart so that the parts of the body click.

The simplest solution: take the device out of the socket, take up the bottom of the case for safe removal.

In addition to the charger and 2 removable batteries, the kit includes:

The program Lechal app has a clear and simple interface. With it, you can synchronize information about the distance traveled, average and maximum speeds, the number of steps taken, the number of calories burned and the time of walking.

The presence of a GPS navigator in the insoles allows you to know the direction of a predetermined route not only by using the information display of a mobile device, but also by using vibration signals that are sent by the left or right vibration sensor of the insoles, depending on whether you want to turn left or right, which is important for people with visual impairment. When deviating from the route, completing free or targeted walks, and other events, the vibration sensors will let you know about this by triggering at the same time and giving different types of vibration signals for various events.

When you synchronize the device, it connects to the Bluetooth modules of the insoles, first to the left, then to the right.

At the same time, it is possible to use the “SWAP” button (“Swap”) to swap synchronized insoles. The status also displays the current battery charge. At the top of the program, a scale is displayed, which symbolizes the percentage of accomplishments of the goals set for the current day. By pressing your finger on this scale, you can edit the goals for the current day, as well as see detailed information on the activity for the current day:

"MY PERFORMANCE" ("Results of my work") displays detailed information about the activity for the month, while you can see the activity of earlier periods. Here you can find a graph that shows the dependence of calories burned on the day of the month:

The “ACTIVITY LOG” button responds with a list of saved training sessions.

The “NEW ACTIVITY” button calls up the window where you need to select the type of walk: free or focused.

The button "FIND NEARBY" ("Find Nearby") activates a window with places of leisure and services that are nearby, to which you can get directions.

There are also social opportunities: share a route with your friends (LINK JOURNEY (Send link with travel route)), send it to a friend on your device, see your current geolocation (VIEW MAP (show on map)) and get directions to any place on the map (TAKE ME TO (Take me to)).

As you can see, the capabilities of the Lechal Insoles insoles are really great , the device is unusual, but quite interesting. It is suitable for tourists, travelers, and just all those people who lead an active lifestyle, and wants to keep records of such activity.
