It sounds unusual, but it's true. Moreover, the decrease in the speed of light is not a theory; scientists have managed to do this practically. Specialists from Harvard University were able to slow down the speed of light to 20 km / h with the help of a super-cooled medium known as Bose-Einstein condensate.

It is worth noting that this is not the first such experience - previously, experts managed to slow down the light to a speed of 61 kilometers per hour. And now, experts not only slowed the passage of light through space, but at one moment stopped it altogether, turning the wave into matter. According to scientists, in this state, the light can literally be “put on the shelf,” as an exhibit.
