As you can see, the list is rather big.
Let's start with the screen: it is obvious that it was created not for games and movies, but for cards and books - this is precisely what explains the choice of e-ink. It is worth noting that to work with him you do not need to take off the gloves.

One of the interesting features is solar charging: in addition to a good indicator for Android of 20 hours of work, you can simply leave it in the sun or attach it to your backpack and forget about the need for charging. But the usual microUSB has not gone anywhere.

The approach to communication here is different: it is calculated that the device will be used in areas without GSM coverage, and the usual 3G module was replaced with a real portable radio station with a transmission power of 2W. Transmission is supported in the PMR446 (446MHz), GMRS (462MHz), UHFCB (477MHz) bands. Radio functions can be linked to a heart rate sensor, and Earl will be able to send an alarm when the pulse changes abruptly. The receiver supports the range of 153–279 KHz, 520–1710 kHz, 2.3–21.85 MHz, 64–108 MHz, 162 MHz (weather SAME) and NOAA frequencies.

The navigation system is also interesting: in addition to offline maps and satellites, Earl can track your location when a signal is lost using the built-in sensors: a magnetometer, an accelerometer and a gyroscope. This will help if you are in a zone of dense vegetation or entered the building where you stopped catching GPS.

Earl raised $ 750,000 out of the required $ 250,000 and was supposed to vyiti this summer, but faced problems with certification, and soon we can expect an official exit. The tablet will be available in two colors and card modifications.

Price: $ 299 for the version with 100k cards and $ 349 for 100k + 24K.
