GrabIt robots use static electricity to capture and transport heavy things.

Most industrial manipulators designed to carry or lift various things are very expensive devices. Usually, either mechanics or pneumatics (for example, creating a vacuum to hold things), or both, are used.

Startup GrabIt offers analogues of existing industrial robots, which will use static electricity. It is planned to use two types of manipulators - flat, for, respectively, flat things (for example, tablets), and manipulators with flexible "fingers" - for other types of objects (banks, fruits, etc.). At the same time, such manipulators can carry things from glass, fabric, metals, and combinations of such materials.

Standard manipulators, even multi-functional ones, need to be reconfigured to capture and transfer various types of objects.

The developers of GrabIt promise that their manipulators, in most cases, are universal, and can easily transfer even fragile objects made of glass.

The company has now begun the final phase of development of its robots, so soon (when it is not reported), static-based manipulators may appear in production.
