Owners of pets, cats and dogs (or someone holding a dwarf pig?) Sometimes lose their pets, in the truest sense of the word. Animals that are allowed to walk outside, with or without supervision, sometimes run away, play, sometimes they are stolen. According to statistics, in the USA and Europe, 10 million domestic animals are lost every year.

And many are not. The project of a miniature GPS tracker Pod, developed by Podtrackers , can change this sad statistics, reducing the number of cases of missing pet.

What is a pod?

This GPS tracker is small in size, weighing only 29 grams, which is attached to the collar or clothing of an animal. After activation, the device shows the location of the animal in real time, sending data to the application on a mobile device (iOS, Android).



At the same time, the tracker does not need Bluetooth or WiFi - the developers have foreseen the possibility of data transmission over the cellular network, for which an activated SIM card is included in the package with the tracker. As a result, animals can be monitored both from the next street and from the neighboring continent.

When will it be available?

The developers have already received the full amount for the launch of mass production of the device (funds were collected on Kickstarter). The first batch of trackers Pod will be shipped in December 2014.
