One of the five remaining computers Apple-1 sold for 905 thousand US dollars



The other day an auction of old computer equipment took place, where one of the lots was the Apple-1, which was preserved in excellent condition. This is a computer from the first batch, collected personally by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. In the first batch there were only 50 such computers.

To date, it is known about five (some media talk about six) remaining Apple-1, which are in working condition. It is worth noting that over the past few years, such computers for sale, go to an increasingly high price.

The amounts for which rare Apple-1s are sold are impressive. The minimum price was 275 thousand US dollars, the maximum was reached at the last auction. 905 thousand US dollars - while the maximum of what was gained for Apple-1. It was expected that for this example of the equipment of the 70s of the last century it would be possible to gain from 300 thousand to 500 thousand dollars. As you can see, the final amount of the lot met all the hopes of the seller.

The seller was John Anderson, a fan of Apple technology, who bought his Apple-1 back in 1980, and in 1989 put the computer in a glass showcase.

In August, the car was checked by a specialist, who concluded that this copy of the Apple-1 is almost in perfect condition. No modifications were made, and even the screws on the power regulator nobody touched.

It is worth noting that the first batch of Apple-1 was bought by entrepreneur Paul Terrell at a price of 666.66 US dollars. After Wozniak and Jobs collected another 150 such computers.
