The eyes of a person with an implantPresbyopia or presbyopia is a very common visual impairment. For the most part (this is already clear from the name), presbyopia affects the visual apparatus of aged people. Usually, glasses are used to solve a problem, and not everyone likes them. Contact lenses are also not always convenient, and there are more problems with them than with glasses.
KAMRA Vision - an implant for the eyeball, which is implanted under the cornea, and automatically adjusts the "picture" under the vision of a specific person. Such an implant is implanted for 10 minutes under local anesthesia, after which the person can no longer use either glasses or contact lenses.

The implant works like a pinhole camera, reducing the amount of light passing through the pupil. The implant removes peripheral rays, and as a result, the “picture” becomes clearer. KAMRA Vision implant has already passed a series of clinical studies in the USA, Europe and Asia. In total, the implant was tested on 507 volunteer patients aged 45 to 60 years.
During the three-year test, it turned out that 83% of patients had improved their vision, most volunteers were able to drive a car or read a newspaper without corrective lenses or glasses. At the same time, patients were able to disassemble the characters in row 2.9 of the eye examination table.

This is the procedure for implant implantation.
Clinical trials are still ongoing, but, in general, we can talk about the successful completion of a number of tests. The size of the implant is 3.8 millimeters in diameter with a 1.6 mm diameter hole in the center.
