Copter Express creators fined for delivering pizza drones

Today there was news that the creator of the company Copter Express, who delivered pizza delivery in Syktyvkar with the help of quadcopters, was fined 50,000 rubles. Oleg Ponfilenok received a report on the court order in the mail. It turned out that his actions are declared as “cargo transportation by air without a license”.

According to the court, Oleg needed to obtain several permits at once, including the use of airspace, a flight plan and a license to transport goods on an aircraft.

Of course, no one will issue such permissions to the owner of the quadrocopter. “It’s impossible to obtain a license for the carriage of cargo on a drone, and our kopter is not suitable for types of certified aircraft,” Oleg said in his account on VK.

He will challenge the decision of the court, although hopes for a positive outcome for the entrepreneur are minimal.
