As I recently found out, the Italians, in addition to searching for treasure under St. Petersburg lions, learned how to make 3d printers.
In Moscow, there appeared such an “Italian” and I managed to check it in action.

Under a cat review of the printer "Next Generation" and printing parts using water-soluble plastic.
(a very interesting decision to “unfasten” one extruder)

Italian "tribe" ShareBot

Company founded in 2012
ShareBot printer lineup

Appearance (in protective film)

Beautiful lighting, unusual design (Italians), rounded corners
"You can choose both the light and the dark side of the force"

Or this: the Imperial attack aircraft and Darth Vader.
I ventured to investigate the insides only from the “Imperial attack aircraft” (in the white printer model)

4 screws, and the base is visible

Prints from SD, allows you to select the file temperature settings or two presets (PLA \ ABS). It can also be by wire. such "direct connection" is friendly only with Repitier Host. There is an Arduinka there, the usual RepRap g-coda (marlin / sprinter) Wonderfully digests the code from Cura. The list does not end with these programs, but they have experimented on them mostly.

Standard Rumba on Arduino allows you to expand the theoretical number of printing blocks as much as 3x, but the printable area will not allow them to be used wisely
Two extruders

In the mode of 2 extruders, the print area is only 185 mm in width, however, after disconnecting an additional extruder, the print area is again accessible all - 250 mm.
Additional settings - usually to adjust the shift, there is enough control program funds, in this case, the error must be entered directly in the additional macros field or the g-code itself.

The extruder turns off in two steps - unscrew the screw securing the blocks, and fix the removed block on the magnet at the parking spot.
Plastic feed through a long extruder. Inside there is a Teflon tube, which is positive for PLA and low-temperature ABS and is not very good for printing above 260 degrees.
Also the printing blocks with a convenient system of clamping the bar on the springs. Also, ideal for printing elastic materials. Since between the clamping bearing and gear, the extruder tube is tapered and does not tighten soft materials under the pulley.
Size of the print area - 250x200x210

Calibrated in manual version - adjustment screws. Screws - 4 in the corners, there is a scripting (available from the display menu) adjustment assistance. The printer draws a standard tuning rectangle in several steps, indicating which screw to adjust and when.

Sensitive temperature sensors, successful design of the Z axis carriage.
Italian hairspray

The first to use RepRap `s guys. Good glues PLA on both cold and hot platform. ABS with a good adjustment of the platform also keeps well. (Conveniently - sprayed, printed, removed the item - washed away with the remnants of plastic.

Very multifunctional display. Like on Ultimaker - temperature, plastic and fan supply options, platform calibration, plastic replacement, printer axes control are available

Available in two languages - English / Italian. It should also be in Russian, but not yet implemented.
Water-soluble plastic printing
Plastic reel

PVA (polyvinyl acetate), remarkably eroded by limonene and some water
Physical properties:
Yield index (190 ° , 2.16 kg), 1.5 - 3.5 g / 10 min
Melting temperature; 160 - 170 ° C
Glass transition temperature; 45 - 55C
Specific heat; 0.4 cal / ds
Density, 1.25 - 1.35 g / cm3
Water-soluble plastic is very soft and therefore its use with classic spring mechanisms is difficult.

Printed cube

In the area of two hours it is necessary to soak it, then under the stream of tolerably hot water we wash and pick out. If there is limonene, you can throw in it, eat better and faster, but only if the main part of the ABS.
