GeekUniversity opens a set of information security faculty

In our online university for programmers opened a new department of information security. Students will go from a novice to a middle-level developer in just a year and will receive guaranteed employment after successfully graduating from university.

GeekUniversity is a joint educational project of the Mail.Ru Group and the IT-portal GeekBrains. The faculty of the faculty are specialists from leading Russian companies, including the Mail.Ru Group. Graduates will receive a certificate confirming the acquired qualifications.

For admission to GeekUniversity, the applicant must submit an application and go through online testing. Those who do not cope with the test, will be able to get the missing knowledge in the preparatory courses of the university. The training program is designed for 350 academic hours, the intensity of classes is two to four lessons per week. A student can vary his load and intensity during the learning process. Training is paid.

During the year, students of the faculty of information security will conduct an audit of real companies and projects four times. They will learn how to work with web protocols, look for vulnerabilities in networks, applications, sites, learn the basics of programming and system administration skills, and learn the principles of social engineering. The program also includes a course for preparing for an IT interview. Each student is assigned a curator-mentor - a specialist in the field of IT-security, who can quickly answer questions.
