Mikhail Klimarev has published documents showing that Roskomnadzor is starting an experiment to block access to two subnets of Amazon’s cloud web services (AWS).
Documents themselves under the spoiler The lock is directed against the Zello service (simulates a push-to-talk walkie-talkie), which is very popular among truckers. In March 2017, protests against the Platon system were coordinated through Zello, and in April of the same year, Roskomnadzor
initiated a restriction of access to IP addresses used by the service. The official reason for blocking is the refusal of Zello to store the correspondence and personal data of users, as well as to provide this information to law enforcement agencies.
')
Since then, the RKN has been blocking dozens of Zello addresses daily. The service, in turn, automatically “moves” to new addresses. It became obvious that Roskomnadzor is losing this fight. More
than 4,000 addresses have been blocked, while Amazon has millions of IP addresses (if you do not take IPv6 addresses into account). This cat-and-mouse game can go on for years. Now Roskomnadzor decided to "hit the squares." The department's specialists identified two subnets, blocking which would lead to “effective degradation” of the Zello service, and gave the providers recommendations for restricting access.
At least two telecom operators
have already confirmed receipt of these letters.
It is planned to block 36 subnets (of which two are subnets / 11), totaling almost 15 million IP addresses.
All of this can affect many other services that also use the Amazon cloud. For example, there may be interruptions in the work of the CRM-system "Bitrix24", which in February of this year
transferred its infrastructure there.
Update: the response of the press service of Roskomnadzor:

Update 2:
Amazon asked Zello to terminate me IP addresses . The service moved to another platform, and the RKN removed thousands of addresses associated with Zello from the registry.
