A special decree of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Ukraine blocks access to all Mail.ru services, including Vkontakte, Odnoklassniki, the portal and the postal service. The decree was signed on Tuesday, May 16. The text of the document is published on the presidential portal .

The restrictions in question are considered an extension of the sanctions and are mainly of an economic nature. But since the services and sites referred to in the decree are considered property of Russian companies, the country's leadership decided to block them. Access to the services and sites of the Russian companies that fell under the sanctions is still there, but this is until the Ukrainian providers start following Poroshenko’s decree.

The presidential decree states, in particular, the following: “To prohibit Internet providers from providing Internet access services to Internet resources of Mail.ru services (www.mail.ru) and socially oriented VKontakte resources (www.vk.com ) and "Classmates" (www.ok.ru) ".
')
The Yandex services are also blocked.

In addition to the resources of the listed companies, the sites of such companies as Kaspersky Lab and DrWeb were sanctioned. Probably, the products of these companies, anti-virus software and a number of other services will also fall under the sanctions.

The document mentions the company 1C Multimedia Ukraine, the representative office of 1C in Ukraine. As far as can be understood, this is a ban on products distributed by this organization. Economic activity and ABBYY companies are blocked.

In addition to blocking services, organizations that fall under the sanctions force them to suspend operations for a period of three years. This decree prescribes the recall of all previously issued licenses for the right to carry out a certain type of activity. It also speaks of the restriction or termination of the provision of telecommunications services and the use of public telecommunications networks by these companies.

The document says that the restriction of access is a temporary, preliminary period for which the residents of Ukraine have closed access to these sites and services - 3 years. According to the analytical company Gemius, previously cited by Gazetoy.ru, there are about 5.4 million Vkontakte users and 3 million Odnoklassniki users in Ukraine. These sites are in the top 10 most visited resources of the Ukrainian segment of the Internet.

The decree came into force from the moment of its signing.
