Chinese government announces private VPN services - outlawed

According to the Hong Kong newspaper South China Morning Post, in the article “ China tightens the Great Firewall by declaring unauthorized VPN services illegal ”, all VPN services that are not approved by the Chinese government will be considered illegal. The Chinese Internet will be “cleared” of illegal VPNs, with the help of which it was possible to bypass the censorship of the Golden Shield, known in the west as the “Great Chinese Firewall”.

The “clean up” campaign will be launched immediately and last more than a year.

Given that Russian officials want to adopt the experience of Chinese censors and even meet with them about this, we can expect the introduction of similar measures in Russia.
