Head of InfoWatch Natalya Kasperskaya: big data of Russians should belong to the state

The head of InfoWatch, Natalya Kasperskaya, in her conversation with TASS, stated that in her opinion the big data of Russians should be recognized as state property.

“My opinion is that this data should be the property of the state, because the users do not have this data. The user released them into the information space, and all that he wrote there went away. It means that this is not their affiliation, ”the information agency quotes Kaspersky.

According to Kaspersky’s logic, “the user himself released this data into the information space and no longer possesses it.” At the same time, foreign companies are engaged in collecting and processing large Russian data in order to extract the subsequent benefits from their analysis.

“The fact that other countries freely shake this information and know the movement of all our citizens know what they are thinking about, and their political preferences are wrong. Therefore, these data should be the property of the state, ”concluded Kaspersky.

In this case, the head of InfoWatch notes that intercepting information about the inhabitants of the country will do nothing, since the HTTPS protocol is now widely used. According to Kaspersky, the way out would be to “drive” all the big data about users into Russia and approve this process at the legislative level by analogy with the law on “personal data”. However, in this case, the state will receive a huge flow of data from Google and Facebook.

“I think that you probably need to legally force such companies to transfer certificates, or just try to somehow somehow“ drive ”them (data) to Russia. There should be some kind of legislative measures, not interceptors, ”said Kasperskaya. As an example, she cited the interaction of Facebook with the authorities of China.

Natalya Kasperskaya is the head of InfoWatch and the former spouse of Eugene Kaspersky, the founder of the company of the same name. He is considered one of the richest women in the Russian Federation and the most famous, authoritative and influential person in the Russian IT industry. InfoWatch develops niche products that specialize in information security in the corporate sector.
